Third graders started their Pilgrim unit and worked on Sudoku.

Monday fourth graders did posters for our "Back to School Dance". Great job!

New School Year!

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2012 -2013  Gifted Resource Program at Joseph Martin Elementary School.  I am  looking forward to working with each of you.  I anticipate a "Super Year".  I will attempt to foster each child's special interest.  I expect each child to listen, cooperate, and do his or her best work.  We will engage in the following: brainstorming, analogies, creative writing, critical thinking, problem solving, and computer research studies.  All grade levels will work on simulation units.  Most work will be completed in school.  I am excited about these units.  I am looking forward to the challenge of presenting them. The instructional goals are to: increase their knowledge base, stimulate and enhance their creativity and to think outside the box.  I will send home a mid-term progress report and rubric.

Your commitment and continued interest in your child's education is very important.  I appreciate your support as we inspire leaders of tomorrow.  I know that working together we can ensure that your child has a fun an successful year.
I believe that frequent communication between home and school is essential.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at school if you have any questions about your child. (368 - 3114)
